National Workplace Program

beyondblue is no longer offering the National Workplace Program (NWP) mental health training courses. However, to continue supporting individuals and organisations to create mentally healthy workplaces we've provided the list of topics covered by the NWP workshops with links to free information here.

Additionally, the Heads Up website has a wide range of resources available to support you in the workplace including fact sheets, brochures and information booklets for order or download as well as case studies and personal stories.

There is also online training available, including webinars and Tool box talks as well as other evidence-based mental health training options.

If you have any enquiries about the cessation of the NWP, or need further support, please contact us at: workplace@beyondblue.org.au

Mental Health in the workplace and wellbeing program

The Black Dog Institute provides flexible, customisable training to suit staff at all organisational levels. Delivered by experienced mental health clinicians, programs focus on measurable data and results. In certain circumstances, these programs attract financial grants (up to $1,500 per eligible employee) through the government body JobAccess.

Mental Health First Aid course

Like traditional first aid, mental health first aid is a set of practical strategies that support a person who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis, until professional help is sought or the crisis resolves. Workplace training in these strategies is available from Mental Health First Aid Australia, as a standard 12-hour course (delivered over two days or four separate sessions), a self-paced eLearning course or a blended course (eLearning plus 3.5 hour training session).

Workplace awareness, management skills and resilience program

Mental Health at Work (mh@work) is an international body mentoring businesses and organisations to create mentally resilient workplaces. Taking a long-term view of each business or organisation’s unique needs and focusing on mental health conditions, the educational program can be delivered as a workshop or eLearning resources.
