These free online resources have been developed by beyondblue to increase understanding of mental health in the workplace and provide practical strategies to support you. Each resource takes up to 20 minutes to complete and can be used on desktop computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones.


Workplace mental health awareness

This resource takes a look at common myths and misconceptions about depression and anxiety by providing facts, tools and personal experience videos. 


What it’s like – personal stories

This resource tells the stories of four men in blue-collar and white-collar jobs, experiencing some tough times. Within each video, the men discuss their experiences and the strategies they put in place to stay well.


Having a conversation

This resource presents dramatised examples, featuring staff from both blue-collar and white-collar workplaces, demonstrating how to talk to a staff member who may be experiencing a mental health condition.



What would you do?

This resource addresses similar content to ‘Having a conversation,’ but uses a ‘choose your own adventure’ style format. It presents a series of different ways to approach a staff member who may be experiencing depression or anxiety.



Perspectives: returning to work

This resource presents a case study of an employee who has depression and is returning after a period of absence from work. It takes a look at the situation from the perspectives of five different people with different roles in the workplace.



Organisational leadership

This resource provides senior leaders with information, tools and practical actions to create a mentally healthy workplace and protect their own mental health.

Business in Mind 

This resource supports small-to-medium business owners to learn how to manage mental health conditions in the workplace, including stress, work-life balance and approaching a staff member who may have depression and anxiety.
