On Sunday 5 March 2017, over 20 beyondblue staff members and volunteers took part in the Melbourne leg of the Australian Corporate Triathlon Series, swimming, riding, and running for #teambeyondblue.
The event saw over 5,000 competitors, many of whom were competing in their first triathlon, gathering in the warm early morning at Melbourne’s Elwood Beach.
#teambeyondblue competitors were a mix of first-timers and experienced triathletes who took on either a single leg (swim, ride, or bike) or all three activities as part of a relay team.
All team members finished the event, and one of the #teambeyondblue teams placed a very respectable eighth in the Female Team category of the Relay Triathlon. Congratulations!

The Gold Coast and Sydney triathlons are still to come in April, with Olympian and beyondblue Ambassador Libby Trickett competing in the Gold Coast event as beyondblue’s official corporate triathlon ambassador.

Taking Heads Up to corporate triathletes
beyondblue is bringing its Heads Up campaign to all events on the 2017 Australian Corporate Triathlon Series calendar, and will be encouraging corporate participants to start working on creating more mentally healthy workplaces.
The case for workplace change is strong, with one in five employees likely to be experiencing a mental health condition at any given time, and mental health conditions costing Australian employers $10.9 billion every year through absenteeism, reduced productivity and compensation claims.
